About me

What I do

Software development

I write free and libre open source software. The following is a selection of my projects I care most about:

  • moeripper: A DVD ripping solution that allows ripping DVD titles in bulk (as with TV series on DVD).
  • phenyl: A web browser engine written from scratch. This started as a research project for my bachelor thesis in applied computer science and evolved into a modular engine.
  • endemm: A multimedia encoder and decoder. This project also helps me to learn about multimedia codecs and containers.
  • ucmf: A make frontend for microcontroller projects - similar to what CMake does, but tailored for microcontroller software.
  • yauclib: A microcontroller library that also contains drivers for hardware that can be connected to microcontrollers. This project helps me to learn about microcontrollers and the hardware that is connected to them.

3D printing

I also design objects for 3D printing under a free license. The currently biggest project in that regard is Tilefurn. It is a tile-based furniture system that allows easy re-arrangement and recycling of parts that are used in furniture.

Other of my 3D printing objects are available in the collection of my 3D designs: https://codeberg.org/ncc1988/my-3d-designs

Electronics and electronic devices

I play around with electronics and use my knowledge to build circuits. Some of them are published under a free license:

  • multifunctional-li-ion-charger: A project (in development) to build a li-ion charger around a small charge controller chip that allows each of the two replacable cells to be used as powerbanks. It also features a wide input voltage range so that it allows charging via solar power.

  • ml2032-chargers: A collection of chargers for rechargeable ML2032 button cells. Still in development.

Donation

If you can afford it, you can also donate money to me. The money will be used to fund my life, either directly for expenses like rent and food or indirectly for my retirement later in life. In general, I don't waste money on status symbols, so you don't need to worry that your donations might be used to buy a golden watch, a sports car or a big mansion.

You can donate money directly to the following account:

Note that a donation does not mean that I will work on a certain feature or that I will work more on a certain project. It is an appreciation of my work and not a payment or a purchase of work force.
