Your Question

I've been using librewolf set to open tabs that were open when I closed the browser. I've had some ~40+ tabs open for years on other installs and at least months on this install.
I opened librewolf today and all the open tabs are gone. I looked in closed tabs and I can see the tabs that I closed yesterday and before yesterday but nothing from today, it's like my open tabs never existed.
I've had an issue today with my PC (win 11, ryzen 7800, 32GB RAM, 4070) today that I have not experienced before, it was really slow after I turned it on, like trying to run modern software on a 30yr old computer, it did not freeze but it was slow enough to feel like it so I just gave it a hard reset. After the reset it was a lot better but still opened stuff a bit slow or lagged a bit so I did a normal restart and it seemed to run ok afterwards and then I noticed the issue with librewolf.
I don't think I opened librewolf before the 3rd boot but I'm not 100% sure, maybe I did, but it does not make sense to me that would somehow corrupt my tabs but not my history. I also use Brave and I definitely opened that one on the 2nd boot and the tabs there are fine.
Any ideas what could be the issue and if I can get my tabs back?

Tabs are generally not treated as important persistent data, like bookmarks for example.
So they can get lost on crashes or in similar situations in which an active session might not get saved or gets corrupted.

If that is the case, in my opinion it should be changed imediately. I can access pages that were closed 6 month ago but the ones I left open are not important enough to be saved? What?
Also, I have had hard resets and power losses with librewolf opened in the past and my open tabs were fine and I don't think I opened it now, I just mentioned it in case I did because it's the only possible issue that came to mind.
Could this be caused by anything else and could I get them back if they did get corrupted? Some of them were opened months ago, are they really not saved anywhere?

Not only my tabs are gone after updating to 150.0.1_p1-r1 but it can't remember opened tabs despite the setting being enabled.

It looks like librewolf does not properly respond to kill signal. If I use CTRL+Q or the menu to exit librewolf is saves the tabs. Since before I switched to librewolf I've used Hyprland's killactive dispatcher to close windows and it worked just fine. I'm certain about that because I restarted a day ago and the previous update was 6 days ago. The change must have happened in -r1, otherwise I should have lost my tabs when I restarted a day ago.

I've never ever had that with Firefox.

Worst part is I now cannot recover any of the tabs I lost.

EDIT: after a few retries it started remembering the tabs again.
