Similar to my proposol for keyoxide-cli, I think it would be good to be able to verify signature profiles – and indeed, PGP keys hosted on one's own website – by providing a direct URL to the ASCII-armoured data online.
I suggest this takes two forms:
-
It should be possible to enter a URL into the text input at keyoxide.org, instead of an identity (email or fingerprint). If the input is an https URL, Keyoxide should fetch it and if it is a signautre profile or a PGP key, it should proceed with verification accordingly.
-
It would be great to be able to link directly to Keyoxide to verify a signature profile, just as one can to verify a key from WKD or an HKP server. This would enable hosting a signature profile on one's own website, and linkiing to Keyoxide for people to be able to verify it.
I propose a link something like this:
https://keyoxide.org/?profile=[profile_url]
(exact URL syntax up for debate)
(EDIT: to be clear, I'm not trying to spam the issue trackers, I've opened this on both repos because separate implementations are needed 😀)
