Custom web design #6
@foxlet you designed this page, which is a nice collage of existing elements. Would you be willing to work on an initial web design for the launch? It is time constrained, which is not easy.
The date of the launch is not known yet but when it is there will be two choices:
- Reusing an existing theme
- Use a minimalist custom theme
But there won't be time to properly work on a visual identity, it will have to be done afterwards.
If you feel like you have time to work on this minimalist custom theme, feel free to assign yourself the issue. You've been made an administrator of this repository.
@foxlet I'm only working in Frontend so far, but have read up some things about how design works (fascinating subject! Should have done that earlier).
Let me know if you are open to feedback and what format would help you.

The theme already exists, it's a from-scratch static HTML site that I use to prototype designs for different projects. I'd be happy to implement that more fully or rework it into another engine, depending on how much time there is to get familiar with each framework.
Seems like @oliverpool is working on an MKDocs version, so if there's a decision there, it'd make sense to merge both efforts.

Feedback is good! I can't promise that everything can be added but getting extra pairs of eyes on this will definitely help.
The best medium is probably a sketchboard or at least screengrabs + a text description.
@foxlet sorry, I changed direction and went with astro + tailwindCSS instead of MKDocs.
Result visible here: https://codename.codeberg.page
Feel free to play with the index page: https://codeberg.org/codename/website/src/branch/main/src/pages/index.astro
And the layout: https://codeberg.org/codename/website/src/branch/main/src/layouts/Layout.astro
Custom CSS can be added in style.css: https://codeberg.org/codename/website/src/branch/main/src/style.css
Edit: I added this "quickstart" to the [README)(https://codeberg.org/codename/website#styling)
@foxlet I would love to see your design on https://forgejo.codeberg.page/ 💙
@foxlet once merged in the main branch it will now also show on https://forgejo.org/
For the record, the discussion in the chatroom with @foxlet about the web design.
As a fallback, @oliverpool @circlebuilder do you have a suggestion about a pre-made theme? There are just two days left to launch 😓
@foxlet is in a different timezone, sorry for thinking monday was over and they were not available. My bad 😊
It's not trivial to get used to tailwind. Since the launch is in 48h let's not impose such a deadline to the custom web design: it can be completed afterwards, with no stress.
See also #37
As far as I remember, the deadline was moved.
A custom web design was implemented in #37 (and is still being tweaked).
For any future changes it's probably best to open a new issue.
No due date set.
No dependencies set.
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
