api sub command similar to gh #559

Feature description

I wish there was an api sub command which would automatically inject auth headers and return json output, similar to the gh CLI.

Useful for scripting and AI agents

I am interested in contributing this, but not without AI assistance. So if I understand the codeberg AI agreement it sounds like I can't contribute.

I don't support AI use cases.

I don't see how this makes this issue invalid. I can imagine there being legitimate use-cases for writing scripts, as was mentioned. This would probably be a useful "escape hatch" to get machine-readable data for endpoints we don't cover directly.

I second this. Can it be used by AI: yes. But so can pretty much everything automated. Apart from allowing currently not covered endpoints it may also allow users to target endpoints, we already cover, in ways we didn't anticipate. And if we don't want it to become an excuse for not reporting the issue, driving its usage, we can still output a message, instructing the user to consider it.

I think the feature itself is good! I just won't accept feature requests submitted with the intent of using them with AI. If anyone else wants this feature, I'd absolutely be open to it.
