Question: Replicating more than 2 servers? #6

Hey all, were using dovecot (2.3 currently) for replicating our emails between 3 different servers, problem is that we keep getting dsync errors between 2 of the servers at random.

Question is, has anyone figured out a proper way to replicate between more than 2 master/master servers?

After dovecot removed replication entirely, were now debating over migrating to something else or making our own custom solution, so if anyone here has managed to make a proper 3 and more server replication replication let me know. (Sorry for asking this here, dovecot forums ain't fit to ask this question anymore :D). Otherwise I'll start looking at alternatives.

Hi @Ichiban ,

Dovecot 2.3 does only supports replication between server pairs, not between three or more servers. This is a requirement by the underlying dsync mechanism used for syncing, as far as I know.

As wormhole also uses this dsync mechanism, it does not support your desired setup either.
