Change window icon based on VPN state #665

I would be helpful if the tray icon could signal the current state of the VPN connection. For example by adding a green dot or changing the color of the icon or background to green while connected, and switching to a yellow color when the current session is going to end in less than an hour.

Thanks for the issue, but there is no tray icon set by the app. I guess your desktop environment adds a tray icon for VPN connections so we don't control this

Guess I was talking about the window icon displayed in the taskbar and other places depending on the desktop environment, not a dedicated tray or status icon. Wrong word, same idea. It should be possible to change the window icon dynamically via https://docs.gtk.org/gtk3/method.Window.set_icon_list.html

I'm not sure I like this, are there any applications that dynamically update the icon?

Most have a tray icon to indicate their current state. An optional tray icon would of cause also solve the issue and provide visual feedback for those who want it.

I have the app pinned to my task bar because I use it daily. I just thought a visual indicator would be nice to have.
