I want to run yambar on Wayfire. But,i need it to have Taskbar. Taskbar can be achieved by foreign-toplevel-manager protocol.

Please see

https://github.com/Alexays/Waybar/wiki/Module:-Taskbar

And please try to implement Taskbar so that I can switch to Yambar.

Thanks in advance

We might add support for something corresponding to the xwindow module, using e.g. the foreign-toplevel-manager protocol. But a full blown task bar is unfortunately out of scope for yambar.

Thanks for the implementation, sir. Considering "taskbar for wayland compositor" is one of killer features, especially for stacking wayland compositor with foreign-toplevel-manager support. Glad to wait, I use yambar with hikari wayland compositor (as daily driver), but when I try labwc, I switch to waybar.

No need to rush the developer, mate! if you like just use it, implement a feature need time and resource.

https://pagure.io/fedora-workstation/issue/264 **edit:** More importantly, this https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xdg/xdg-specs/-/issues/84

I would also like this feature to switch over from waybar.

I would also like this feature to switch over from waybar.

Waybar's "wlr/taskbar" requires workarounds for several things, one of them to prevent it growing indefinitely as more apps get stacked, like preventing them to show up on the taskbar, :( See this issue for example. Other than, as a stacking compositor user, I'm hoping for taskbar, tray and idle-inhibitor to be eventually supported by yambar. But as this issue originated using waybar as a reference, I wanted to say there might be some better reference, and yes, perhaps as things currently are, waybar is like the option for stacking compositors like labwc (the compositor I use), but hoping for yambar to catch up eventually.
