hello
im presuming derive uses GPG as i havent seen anything suggesting it doesnt (please correct me if im wrong!!)
gpg has a huge codebase, has very old encryption stuffs which are insecure and obsolete now, aswell as gnupg having an insane amount of cves
sequoia is a very good alternative, it is written in rust, provides more modern cryptography and is much smaller than gnupg (and isnt gnu)
i would package it if i knew how to but unfortunately i dont as of now
