I think this confusion stems from their GitHub repository, which hosts only integration components, but UI and majority of the platform is closed-source, as mentioned in the forum post. Furthermore, in 2023 Pipedream announced switch to source available license.
To be fair, I didn't find any recent instances where Pipedream claims to be open-source, but certainly the available information don't clear this confusion.
