Why ? I don't understand the goal of this request.
You can install smolfedi in the directory you wish.

Tell me more about your trouble, I need to understand.

Moving code in a subfolder would break all installed server when they get an update with git pull.

From a certain size of the project, it is simply impractical for a number of reasons to have the source codes directly in the root, because that is where the configuration files of testing tools or linters belong, for example. That is why I wanted to start the packaging by moving the root of the website to "src"
