Firefox and thunderbird

I have a bug, i install Kaos 2 day ago and i'm very impress about the distro.
the problem is when i update Firefox and Thunderbird and i open it after updating he looks like for the first time i install firefox and thunderbird i have to configure every think again even with thunderbird he come on the page configuration to enter email, name, password etc,

I don't understand why ?

For information i have a Mac book air mi 2013 and Mac mini 2012 and is the same bug .

Anyway i would like to said thanks to all the team because is the first time i use a distro linux with the best integration KDE, so nice, faster, smooth and easy to upadate and install packages.

the most impressing i have is when i install the package for the wifi broadcom B43 (broadcom-wl), just install and reboot and voila amazing

so thank you in advance and havea great day.

Sorry for my english i'm from france :)

The issue is known and has to do that both are packaged in binary form. Firefox developed a bug some 6 months ago (when build from source), that it wouldn't run properly anymore, so to keep a working Firefox while trying to figure the issue (still not found), Firefox & Thunderbird are now shipped as upstream Mozilla releases (with all needed depends from Mozilla included).
Major disadvantage of this, is that with each update you need to start one time with firefox -P or thunderbird -P and select the original/default profile. Once the correct profile is selected, subsequent start-ups are fine again.
So, in the end, an easy fix, but strange issue nonetheless.

Zen-browser is Firefox based, with much better privacy and more modern options, and it does not have the above issue, might be something you want to try:

Issue is not resolved, I only offered workarounds, so it is better to keep it open (in case someone else encounters it too, and needs this explanation).
