There will be a wizard like the IE Mobile first-run wizard where it gives you "defaults" and "customize" buttons. The "defaults" button will have text under it that says it will turn on Web searches, set the default search engine to DuckDuckGo (No "AI" version), and the image of the day provider to Bing.
The stuff the default options do will need to be in a bulleted list to make it clear what will happen.
Choosing "customize" will go to a page with:
- a checkbox for doing Web searches
- if checked (which it will be by default), it will show a dropdown box with a list of search engines in it below the checkbox. DuckDuckGo (No "AI") will be the default here, too.
- There will be a linklabel below the dropdown box that goes to the selected search engine's privacy policy page.
- a checkbox for getting daily images from a source
- if checked, there will be a dropdown for daily image sources.
- the default image source will be Bing.
- there should be a privacy policy for daily image sources, too. They might have to be the same as the search engine's privacy policy for stuff like Bing but it might not be accurate for just image sources.
- "confirm" and "back" buttons at the bottom of the page like the Windows Phone OOBE utility.
The search app setup wizard might need to be able to be accessed easily from the settings from the Search app, unless it would be enough to just have the "customize" page options in there and say on both the initial page and the "customize" page that the settings can be changed later from the Search app's settings accessible from the Search app's appbar drawer.
Default settings will be pulled from the system-level config file (so, the one in /opt/Retiled, for example), just like it's done for getting defaults in the Settings app. This is to allow distros to easily override the defaults if they so wish.
