Also it changes height a bit after loading, which is a bit annoying to watch.

This was really a hotfix (making font-size smaller, squeezing whitespace between items etc), this obviously sacrificed the intended look. Maybe appropriate to review+tweak those to make them look better again

Ah, ok. Imho the menu is overdue to be revised, anyway. One of its problems is that there are too many entries. Looking forward to see how the new menu handles that.
