Some people are less likely to star. Other way to know how popular our repo is by knowing how much unique cloner and unique visitor in specific time span.

Is Codberg will support traffic to a repository?

I think there are two solutions:

  • codeberg add some analytics js + custom template (bad idear in my opinion)
  • gitea itself profide this fuction -> pleace create a "feature request" upstream :)

I don't think simply counting requests necessarily constitutes tracking. Release attachments also already have a download counter.

There doesn't seem to be an upstream issue for this in https://codeberg.org/forgejo/forgejo as far as i can tell. Am i just using the wrong search terms? Even just having some statistics on how often the repo is being cloned (like what GitHub does) could be useful.
