I wanted to delete some of the default labels from the ziglang organization; doing so results in DeleteLabel: invalid connection after a few seconds. It doesn't matter which label it is.

Could you try this operation again? Codeberg just had an outage and a quick glance over the metrics tells me that it likely was already starting to misbehave before that.

Seems to be working now. It does take quite a while though -- about 10 seconds per label -- but maybe that's expected?

Yes, the labels queries are slow (if you add/remove labels from a issue you see the same slowness).
