pagination broken when using regexp search? #2098

### Comment - When I choose to search by regexp, e.g. `\bchangeset\b` it opens the **first page of results correctly** e.g. https://codeberg.org/comaps/comaps/search/branch/main?path=&q=%5Cbchangeset%5Cb&mode=regexp - if there is more than one page of results, there is pagination navigation below, allowing to see page `2` / `3` / `next` / `last` of the results. - however, **that pagination doesn't work**. When pressing e.g. on `2` to get second page of results; it leads to URL https://codeberg.org/comaps/comaps/search/branch/main?page=2&q=%5Cbchangeset%5Cb&l= and it says "no results" and in search type selection box that I was searching for "Union" and not `Regexp` - I have to modify the URL manually by adding `&mode=regexp` at the end to make it work. It would be great if it worked by default!

This is probably a general bug with Forgejo. I looked through the projects repo at https://codeberg.org/forgejo/forgejo and it seems not reported there. Would you be willing to open the issue there? 😊

Would you be willing to open the issue there? 😊

Sure, reported there at forgejo/forgejo#8997

Although, testing version they mention lacks that option completely 🤷‍♂️, so I cannot reproduce it on that test instance...

please close this issue :)

Sure, no probs. I was waiting for forgejo/forgejo#9006 to land in https://codeberg.org production so I can verify if the fix works correctly (it still hasn't landed there), but I guess I can close it now and reopen it later if it doesn't...
