I see some anime character on loading screens.

I don't have anything against anime but it is a bit unprofessional. Is there any way to disable it?

If the image loads, there also should be a "why are you seeing this" where its explained that this is Anubis. It's not possible to configure another image here.

Well I see it for a about 100ms, so I did not see that!

I don't think this loading screen fits with the other design elements of Codeberg such as the logo, but that is just my opnion.

Could this be re-opened? I think this makes Codeberg unsuitable for a professional context.

The upstream issue has been closed as wontfix. Maybe Anubis can be replaced or patched.

@louwers You can open a new issue with an alternative. Even your own fork. I will vote against but you can.

Since the upstream issue has been closed, I think this is something that will need solving on our end.

I am taking the liberty to re-open this, but if it is not seen as a problem feel free to close it again. The comments on the linked GitHub issue seem to suggest otherwise though.

afaik there is botstoppeer, which is basically the same thing as anubis except it provides a way to use customized branding

canine.tools uses it

There's also https://codeberg.org/gone/go-away.

FWIW, Anubis has the current benefit of having a good ruleset that seems to block a lot of the requests that we don't want to get through.
