Moin, moin!

i am not sure if its something that the people of that mirror have set up intentionally but when i try to lookup a commit in the FreeBSD ports mirror here then i get:

403 Forbidden
Request forbidden by administrative rules.

https://codeberg.org/FreeBSD/freebsd-ports/commits/branch/main

Many thanks in advance.

Yes this has been blocked since yesterday, there was a huge amount of traffic crawling freebsd-ports (and some forks) that caused Codeberg to be down. We are looking into relaxing these rules when the request is made by an authenticated user.

I really wonder why those pesky bots crawl mirrors while they can just target the main source instead

BTW, is it intended that i have to visit codeberg in general daily once before i can access anything further from that mirror?

@Alexander88207 we have used cookies for a while to differentiate logged-in users and crawlers from each other. They are only set when you visit another page. The rate-limiting has been further adjusted, so I'm closing this as outdated.
