Applying for membership fails with "you must have a Codeberg account" error #1789

I attempted to apply for Codeberg membership through https://join.codeberg.org/. However, registration fails with the following error:

As active member you must have a Codeberg account to be able to access referenced documents and discussions.

I do have a Codeberg account and I was logged in when attempting the registration.

I went through the form and couldn't spot any errors. I entered the email address associated with my account.

I'm using Firefox v135 on Windows 10. Any ideas on what could be going wrong?

Acually it could be done better

A codeberg username is only required for a an active membership. So it does not check immediately. Only after submitting the form. Not only your fault ;)
