Howdy,

I'd like to have support for FreeBSD. I tried to get the woodpecker-agent to work on my FreeBSD server myself but failed. It seems to contain just too many Linux specifics.

So if anyone knows how to do this, I am willing to provide hosting of a FreeBSD agent for this (ipv6 only though).

best,
Tom

PS: my current workaround is to use the woodpecker-agent with the local backend running in a throwaway Hetzner VM. While this works pretty good, it is no long term solution, especially not one suited for public use.

FreeBSD is too niche; maybe asking AI can get an answer.

There was a brief discussion about this on https://github.com/woodpecker-ci/woodpecker/discussions/2245, but I don't think the situation improved from what I can find.

I tried it myself with a FreeBSD 15.0 VM and Podman, which fails so far. So I have opened a new discussion for this: https://github.com/woodpecker-ci/woodpecker/discussions/5921. Perhaps someone has an idea.

well i would say there is upstream interest to have FreeBSD support but not time from the core devs to do so
