[BUG] Resize widget to use space efficiently on tablet #71

Open
opened 2023年04月06日 17:10:33 +02:00 by Parka7120 · 2 comments

Summary

I use the widget of this app on my tablet. Unfortunately, the widget is not using the assigned space efficiently. In order to display all informations included in the widget I need too much space on the screen.

Steps to reproduce

1.Select mentioned widget

Expected behaviour

  • Use less space of the screen by using the space efficiently!

Actual behaviour

Too much space is used! See the following two screenshots (#1 in portrait mode and #2 in landscape).
In screenshot #1 the widget should use either only one row of apps when space is used efficiently, or if really needed two rows. However, it actually needs three rows, which is just too much! When assigning one row less space, then the widget does not show all data. It is OK to for me to use 4 columns of apps, but I honestly think it would be possible with three columns.
In screenshot #2 you can see the display in landscape mode, just for completeness.

Environment data

  • Android version: 13
  • Device model: Samsung Galaxy Tab S6
  • Stock or customized system: LineageOS 20
  • Weather app version: 3.20

Can you show how it currently looks with one or two lines?
Showing the widget depending on the size is not that easy... 😄

Please ignore screenshot 1. I actually figured out, that it resizes correctly in portrait mode and shows all information. So, the widget is now using only one line and everything is fine. In screenshot 2 (landscape mode), the widget shows much less data because the height of the widget is limited. However, there is much more horizontal space available in landscape mode. So I argue that the widget should adapt to landscape mode and actually make use of the horizontal space available.

See the attached screenshot how it looks in landscape mode when using only one line of apps.
