I am planning a rewrite of the app and would therefore like to ask you what is important to you and what should not be missing.
However, it is not guaranteed that it will be in the app in the end...

There is no schedule regarding the start of development and when a first version will be publicly available.

I've compared many many weather apps, and what I liked the most is the great UI and to be able to see the hourly UV index (many apps don't even have a daily one and nearly no other app has an hourly index). Also, the widget is awesome! Being able to open the weather app, calendar or clock was mindblowing :)
Thank you for this great app.
The only thing I'm missing is a support for gadget bridge, so that I wouldn't need another weather app for that.

I am not sure if this is not working on my phone or if Android just can't do it but I would like a function that the weather app activates the GPS by itself to check the current location and deactivates GPS after finding it.
This should be combined with the intervall timer. Maybe if the GPS search takes to long (because inside a building), it just uses the last known location.

@PaulePils It is possible to pull the current location via the GPS symbol in the settings to the right of the text field. In the UI settings (the name doesn't really fit any more) there is also an option to switch on automatic location detection. If this option is active, the current location is determined at every start and set if it is different from the current location.

But in the "planned" rewrite I will try to implement it better.

how weather.com lays out and displays data on mobile... . no swiping for the forecast, only for hourly. a single page presentation of weather data so we can spend less time in the app and more time scheduling events around the information received.

Hello @leopold ,
I understand the motivation to have most things in one place, but I also like the clean look. Because then you don't have a direct flood of information. Isn't that the Today tab on Weather.com?
So far I had thought of a similar design as before. But you could also think about if:

1. the screen one sees directly after the start is selectable, so if I want to see today, hourly or daily preview.
2. or doing a fundamental redesign.

Thanks already in any case for your input.

Sorry for slow response.

After testing a lot of weather apps, the main pull for me was the clean, working and beautiful widget with the ability to configure the refresh rate for less than an hour which in my opinion is too long.

Other than that, I really like the current clean UI, adequate and relevant weather info (sunrise, sunset, UV, precipitation, wind, temperatures), and minimal footprint.

Widgets are also planned, partly similar to the old design, but also a few completely new designs.

The best way for me to say what I like is to compare you to someone else. so let's look at Geometric Weather. Like your app, the graphic design is very nice. both the app and the widgets are lacking compared to yours, and for opposite reasons!

Your widgets manage to pack a ton of useful info into a small space. GeoW looks nice, but by comparison doesnt have enough data.

Within the app, GeoW has lots of data, but its all spread out unnecessarily. Scroll scroll scroll to see what's up. With you it's one screen and a swipe to see the week.

So... in a nutshell, you're really really good at showing a lot of information at once without looking cluttered

Most important for me is the day forecast widget. I don't really use the rest of the app except for the settings.

One suggestion: Make it a bit more obvious that it's possible to slide left/right in MainActivity.

The current app has a list of saved locations (the world icon, main screen, bottom right) but that list only shows current weather for each location. Getting an hourly forecast for one of those locations currently involved going back to main screen, clicking edit location icon, typing the location name, select from the suggestion list, click submit data.

Instead, either the "saved locations" list could have a "switch to this location" button for each element, or the "switch location" screen could offer places from your saved locations list.

The saved locations list could also have a button to add the app's currently selected location to the list.

You can already switch the location by long-clicking on the desired item in the list. (But yes it's not the best UX wise).
