Hi!
HelixNotes behaves differently when saving data in real-time depending on where the vault and its subfolders are located.
Let me explain: if the vault is stored on the system drive (in my case, Linux Mint 22.3, in any personal folder), everything works smoothly—no issues, fast performance, and seamless note-saving without interruptions.
However, if the vault is placed on a removable drive, the writing process becomes choppy. Any operation I try suffers from delays of 1–2 seconds, disrupting the flow of real-time saving. To be honest, it’s quite unpleasant.
I don’t think this is a hardware resource issue (AMD Ryzen 5 7600 6-Core Processor ×ばつ 6, GeForce RTX 3050 8GB, and 32.0 GB RAM). I’ve also tried enabling/disabling GPU acceleration in HelixNotes’ settings, but it made no difference.
I’m really disappointed because HelixNotes is almost a perfect app—well-designed and perfectly suited to my needs. Plus, the ability to work with an LLM model locally (localhost via Ollama or even LMStudio) is fantastic and works flawlessly.
Have I missed any setting that could fix this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your time and effort—I really appreciate it.
Best regards,
