Opening links not working #21

Closed

After adding a few attachments (pdf, txt, zip, odt) I tried to open them (right click - open link), but nothing happens.
I would assume the links to open in their respective apps (pdf in a viewer, odt in Libre aso)

Thank you for all your reports. I'm noting everything and fixes will be released soon.

Hello, fixed in v1.2.5

Hello, fixed in v1.2.5

This is unfortunately still not working. Clicking on a link to an attachment isn't doing anything.
If there is anything I can test or do to help with the fault finding let me know.

Can you tell me which operating system you are using?
Testing on Archlinux, it works correctly - opens the attached file using the associated program.

I'm running on Garuda Linux (Arch) with Gnome 94 (Wayland).
I'm happy to test more, perhaps there's a debug mode?

A linked PDF may open once embedded in the note, but when trying to open another time it's not doing anything.

It's not working on Android either. Pixel 8

If I select 'Save as' it will let me save the file to my disk. That would mean that the link itself is correct.

Links to other notes and external website URLs are working fine.

Hello,

I just released v1.2.6, can you try again?

It's now working well on Android. All links are opening asking me what app to use for opening file.

Unfortunately still not working on Linux desktop :-(

Hello, for the desktop, I'll need to check directly with your distro.
I will set it up in VM and try to simulate since Garuda is a pretty popular distro.

for Wayland I tested on my own system which is ArchLinux on KDE, and Fedora Linux using KDE, both work flawlessly.

I don't think it's the distro. You have tested it only on KDE. I use Gnome (since it's first incarnations). That's probably where you well need to investigate.

Correct, it must be the combo of gnome with wayland.

But no worries, I'll figure this out asap.

I've identified the issue. It's not specific to your distro or Wayland, it affects any GNOME desktop when running the AppImage. The fix is ready and will be included in the next release, along with other enhancements.

Can you please update to v1.2.7 and let me know?
