AI functionality lost in source edit mode #189

Description

The AI button is functional while in source edit mode, and even generates results, but "Apply to Note" button does nothing.

Steps to reproduce

1. Ensure a model provider is set up correctly in the settings (I used Anthropic for the test)
2. Create a new note or open an existing note with content
3. Switch to source edit mode (hotkeys or button)
4. Type some notes and highlight, or highlight existing notes
5. Click the AI button (right click does nothing in source edit mode, which is likely expected behavior)
6. Notice that the text is unhighlighted as soon as AI button is clicked
7. Choose an option - maybe "translate" or "make longer" - and allow the AI to generate results
8. Click "Apply to Note"
9. The generated results are not added to the note

Expected behavior

Assumed to be one of the following:

• AI button is disabled in source edit mode, or
• AI generated results are applied to note
