They have been gathered from the following publications: The birds of Europe (1832-1837), A monograph of the Ramphastidae or Family of Toucans (1834), The birds of Australia and the adjacent islands (1837-1838) and A monograph of the Trogonidae or Family of Trogons (1838). The drawing of Trogon gigas made in preparation for A monograph of the Trogonidae was found amongst the contents of Gould's studio after his death." -- T.p. verso
