I am submitting a fix. I am using the following feature documented in getgroups(2): """ If _DARWIN_C_SOURCE is defined, getgroups() can return more than {NGROUPS_MAX} groups. """ It appears that _DARWIN_C_SOURCE is defined in the standard python configuration on Mac OS X. Tested on 10.6 only.
