I hope you read this thread which discusses the same issue. * http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-list/2007-January/592646.html MvL,effbot and jjlee had shared their views to the original author of argparse module. It did not go anywhere from there. I see that this issue might be rejected unless followed the steps as mentioned in that mail thread.
