Idle does not use the 'line' argument for its showwarning function. This results in the DeprecationWarning "functions overriding warnings.showwarning() must support the 'line' argument", or, when called from within Idle "TypeError: idle_formatwarning_subproc() takes exactly 4 arguments (5 given)". The error can be reproduced from within Idle as well as demonstrated with verify.py. The attached patch applies the behavior of the default warnings implementation. |
