I would think that
def long_as_bytes(lvalue, width):
fmt = '%%.%dx' % (2*width)
return unhexlify(fmt % (lvalue & ((1L<<8*width)-1)))
is short enough for a recipe to not really make a C function
necessary for that feature.
However, if they are going to be provided somewhere, I would
suggest that static methods on the long type might be the
right place. |
