Hi, Yes this bug report is still valid. I just tried compiling Python 3.7.1 on linux with libedit installed (https://thrysoee.dk/editline/) but not libreadline, and indeed the configure script fails to detect I have it installed and falls back on the python readline emulation. Note: I am using Linux, not Mac OS. Cheers, Romain
