Nick, Antoine - I'm now stuck between you. Options going forward: - I can JFDI realising you won't both be happy :) - you two can reach consensus! I could cripple __init__ by switching to __new__, but I think thats massive overcomplication and not needed. I can of course add more text to the pydoc prose saying 'do not use __init__' if that would address Nicks concern.
