python-dev/ideas may be a better place to have this discussion, but basically if you're going to insist that stuff like this doesn't go into Python "because it isn't C++", people are going to have to write C++, and that makes me incredibly sad. There's an obvious need for this, CPython uses optimizations like this internally, as does PyPy.
