The change *only* effects Windows. Currently the code goes
if sys.platform != 'win32':
...
else:
if hasattr(select, 'poll'):
def _poll(fds, timeout):
...
else:
def _poll(fds, timeout):
...
So _poll() is only defined when sys.platform == 'win32'.
Furthermore, the _poll() function is never used anywhere: ConnectionBase.poll() uses Connection._poll(), which uses wait(), which uses select(). |
