Hynek's latest patch mostly looks good to me, but I think the "packed" property on network definitions just needs to go away. The original ipaddr API that is the basis for ipaddress doesn't really have a clear distinction between network definitions and IP addresses, and I think the current network code is still showing some of the legacies of that.
