Did I read right? Clicking F5 crashes while clicking Run and then 'Run Module F5' works? (They ought to be the same thing.) If so, check the key bindings. Options/Configure IDLE .../Keys. There should be an entry 'Run Module - <Key-F5>'. Is F5 bound to anything else?
