I'm mildly uncomfortable advocating many different new dot directories in $HOME (e.g. .python2.7 .python3.1 .python3.2). Let's say -0. Also, because of backward compatibility, I think most configuration files will end up being similar enough between Python versions. Without having thought through all the details, it seems that ~/.python would work in general for configuration files that are compatible across Pythons, with X.Y subdirectories for version specific config files. |
