The behaviour is a bit more nuanced:

'x/'
>>> os.path.join('x', '', 'y')

>>> os.path.join('x', '', 'y', '', '')

>>> os.path.join('', 'x')
'x'
I'm unsure how to word this best, maybe "non-trailing empty paths are ignored"? |
