You'll want to look at http://wiki.python.org/moin/PythonWebsiteCreatingNewTickets Win 2000 is currently supported, although there have been rumblings of beginning to drop that support. The info exists in PEP-11 for now, but I agree that a sentence would fit on that download page. The title of the page could also use an update.
