X freezes after dragging image from Chrome into Unity left panel

Bug Description

1. Launch Google Chrome
2. Drag an image to left panel, with the unity application launchers
3. X freezes; have to reboot the machine.

This is 100% reproducible to me. My GPU is intel:

[ 38.094] (II) intel(0): Integrated Graphics Chipset: Intel(R) GM45

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

This seems very similar to bug #772445 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/772445), I have updated the title to state that this issue is present with both firefox and chrome.

Therefore I am going to make this bug as a duplicate of bug 772445. Please look at the other bug report to see if there is any missing information that you can provide, or to see if there is a workaround for the bug. Additionally, any further discussion regarding the bug should occur in the other report. Feel free to continue to report any other bugs you may find.
