How do I really attach to a running java process from vscode debugger? #1589

The process is running in debug mode. I have the attach/command:PickJavaProcess config set up. But I see no way to trigger this and select the process to debug. Other doc pages I've seen have mentioned some "view" in the debug context to accomplish this, but the only option I see is to "Start Debugging" which launches whatever class my editor is in.
Using "Version: 1.106.1" on Mac.
Appreciate any help, I've been trying to figure this out in vain for a long time.
