Center Finders

Center finders are circles with guidelines and crosshairs for finding the centers of corresponding circular objects. The MetaPost and TeX source code listed below can be used to generate plans in DIN A3 portrait format for circles of diameter 10 to 29cm in increments of .25cm. The generated PDF file is available below as well.

Both the circles and the squares surrounding the crosshairs must be cut out. The best way to cut out the circles, short of a cutting plotter, is a special circle cutter or a compass with a cutting attachment.

Radius Templates

Radius templates 1

radius_templates.pdf contains templates for both concave and convex cambers. The radii of the templates are incremented in steps of 1cm from 40cm to 75cm.

radius_templates_2.pdf contains templates for both concave and convex cambers. The radii of the templates range from 40cm to 102.75cm (15.7480in to 40.4528in) in increments of 0.25cm (0.09843in).

Rectangle Templates

8cm by 8cm to 10.25cm by 12cm in increments of 0.25cm.
The entire inner rectangle is cut out. This requires fewer cuts than the subsequent versions, but makes for a less stable template. For many applications, this version may be adequate.

Of course, with the subsequent versions, the entire inner rectangle may also be cut out.
