I try today to download somes documents on 
[http://www.europarl.eu.int/direct/application/fr/vote/ResultatsVote(...)](http://www.europarl.eu.int/direct/application/fr/vote/ResultatsVotes.asp) 
 
Those documents are in doc format. This format is a closed format and you 
need Microsoft Word (tm) under the Microsoft Windows (tm) system in order 
to read it. 
 
Those softwares are very expensive and are, in most case, useless for my 
personnal use. 
 
I know that somes kind of "tricks" exist to open those kind of files, but 
those tricks infringe perhaps somes patents. I don't want to infringe any 
law, so is it possible to have those documents in a world readable format ? 
Moreover, these tricks aren't available on all systems. 
 
- txt : anybody can read this format 
- pdf : most people can read this format. Portable Document Format, the 
name speak for itself. 
- sxw : the staroffice format. If you propose Microsoft Closed Format, why 
don't you propose the staroffice open format ?
