Ils ont préféré Linux à un Unix commercial surtout parce que Linux apporte plus de souplesse et de puissance qu'Unix ! Les principaux gains déjà obtenus sont : **1 - Le coût bien moins élevé** : non seulement par l'économie d'achat de licence mais aussi par l'uptime élevé des serveurs et parce que Linux nécessite un matériel moins puissant (à service égal)
