Celle-ci s'était attirée les foudres de Lexmark en produisant des cartouches d'encre compatibles à bas prix. Lexmark l'avait alors attaqué sur la base du DMCA en décembre 2002[1] et gagné en 1ère instance (mars 2003)[2]. Faisant appel, SCC avait gagné à son tour en octobre 2004 (sur la base de l'interopérabilité)[3]. A noter que depuis, SCC produit une nouvelle génération de puces qui serait attaquables sur les même bases.
