Call of Duty 4 Beta Getting Boost

Infinity Ward plans to crank up the game's level caps Friday morning.

Infinity Ward is raising the level cap in its ongoing beta of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on the Xbox 360, the first of what the developer says is a series of updates before the game's public testing phase on the console winds down.
Starting Friday morning at 10 a.m. PDT, the Rank level cap in the game will raise to 16, opening up more weapons, perks and features, including Clan Tags at level 12.

The COD4 multiplayer beta went live Aug. 27 and gives gamers a chance to play on three of COD4's multiplayer maps: Overgrown, Vacant, and Crash.

The full game is scheduled for a Nov. 5 release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
