Oral speaker guideline

The total time allocated to each speaker for the standard presentation is 15 minutes. Please leave 3 minutes for questions and discussion.

Presenters should meet their session chairs before the session so they will know who you are. Each session hall is equipped with a laptop computer (Windows 10, PowerPoint 2016) connected to an LCD projector (XGA (1024×768 pixels)), and a screen. Presenters should come to the hall during the break before the session so that the presentation file can be uploaded to the computer in the hall. There will be volunteers in the halls to assist the presenters in uploading their presentations. To avoid problems displaying presentation data, please use the following standard OS fonts:

Please note the following if you are using PowerPoint 2016. In the default settings, the slide size is set to 16:9 and Presenter View is enabled.

  1. Create your slides after changing the slide size to 4:3.
  2. On the Slide Show tab, uncheck “Use Presenter View.”

If you are bringing your computer,

  1. please be sure to bring an AC adapter. The voltage in Japan is 100 V. The plugs and outlets are Type A: non-polarized and ungrounded with two pins (North American type).
  2. The external output port is the Mini D-sub 15 pin.
  3. If your computer (as in the case of Macintosh computers) does not have a Mini D-sub 15 pin port, please make sure you bring an adapter. We will not have any adapters.

Please disable the screensaver and the power-saver option in advance. If they have not been disabled, we will change the settings at the slide check-in desk. Please bring backup data with you just in case we experience equipment problems.

Poster presenter guideline

The size of the display board is 900 mm in width and 2100 mm in height. The recommended poster size is A0 (841 mm in width and 1189 mm in height).

Two poster sessions are scheduled. Presenters are asked to confirm their poster numbers in the program.

Find where your poster is placed on the Poster layout page

APCChE 2019 Excellent Poster Award will be chosen by voting and the winners will be announced by the afternoon of Thursday, September 26. The winners will receive the award certificates during the ceremony starting at 17:00 on Thursday, September 26.

Session Chair Guidelines

During the break before the session, check that the speakers are in the hall and that they uploaded their presentations to the computer or they have their own laptop PCs ready for presentation. Information on cancellation of the presentations, if any, will be at the chair desk in the hall. In case a speaker does not show up, and if no alternative speaker is available, give opportunity for discussion or announce a break until the next presentation. Please keep the time as the session is on a tight schedule.
