Indeed the best t-shirt submitted. I like it because of the duality of its shapes and forms — soft yet hard-edged and pointy. Just like us, ready to claw each other’s eyes but always civil, respectful and friendly. Congratulations Marian. Lovely.
As soon as I get final numbers on the printing costs (which will determine the price you have to pay) I will set up a PayPal shopping system thingie to get some pre-orders in. If you order in advance it will help a lot!
Whew, no fucking kitty. Congrats Marian, my order is in.
On Sep.17.2003 at 10:34 AMHe bows to the will of the people! All hail democracy in action.
Seriously, good call. Nice design. I like that the words "Speak Up," a call to action, sprouts lines of pure decoration. A great conflict.
What color is that printed in? gray? silver? white?
I'll buy as well.
On Sep.17.2003 at 10:39 AMi still can't believe it; the best shirt, it got the most votes, and it won! something's wrong.
spot on, marian; silver would be sweeeeeet.
On Sep.17.2003 at 10:41 AMNo kitty! No kitty!
Marian -- I bow in submission to your victory. (I love the design -- but can you make the art a little smaller on the shirt?)
I'll buy.
On Sep.17.2003 at 10:47 AMNice aesthetics Marian, I'll be getting one for sure.
On Sep.17.2003 at 10:49 AMcongrats, marian. you might think about adding a purple heart to the design for having survived the campaign.
On Sep.17.2003 at 10:52 AMWhat's up with this fear of cats? Isn't it macho enough?
Me myself is allergic to them.
On Sep.17.2003 at 10:57 AMCongratulations Mirian!
I too like the design.
What I find interesting, however, is that some think the kitty is too "feminine" for them, but the flourishing decorative lines on the winning tshirt isn't striking them as too feminine.
Curious....

Cause it's on black. Didn't y'all read the uniform post?
On Sep.17.2003 at 11:03 AMLook..it's not that the kitty is feminine. I have no objection to that. It's just that the kitty was so cute-sy. I don't do cute.
Marian's swirlies are graceful, decorative flourishes. A good design. Hell, I'll wear a shirt with ruffles if someone figured out a way to make it cool.
On Sep.17.2003 at 11:04 AMI'll wear a shirt with ruffles if someone figured out a way to make it cool.
If that isn't our next contest, I'll be disappointed.
On Sep.17.2003 at 11:16 AM>spot on, marian; silver would be sweeeeeet.
I second the silver idea.
Also, this would rock embroidered, if money were no object. Mmmm... embroidered pixel type! Or puffy paint.
On Sep.17.2003 at 11:21 AMJust to add fuel to the fire...
can we get women sized shirts created? Because the "one size fits all" idea never really works.
On Sep.17.2003 at 11:30 AMMight I suggest that you use an American Apparel t-shirt? They are very worker-rights friendly (sweatshop-free).
On Sep.17.2003 at 12:18 PMLove it! I'll buy one - please order mediums - don't need any more huge shirts

Seconded. Armin? Is this in your bid?
On Sep.17.2003 at 12:44 PMForget silver. Glow-in-the-dark.
While the design might be a little too flourishy for my terribly macho appearance and demeanor (ha), I will buy one.

Yup
>can we get women sized shirts created?
Yup
On Sep.17.2003 at 12:53 PM(oops, my 8 hours away from the computer turned in 14 hrs.) .. Sorry I'm late ... phew, just flew in from Awards Ceremony in Paris, where I was accepting "Best Sticker Award" for my "kick me" stickers, soon to be appearing on backs everywhere ...
No uh ... I'm overwhelmed! I'm so excited I can hardly type! I won I won I won! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you everyone, thanks for voting for (削除) me (削除ここまで) my design and thanks for putting up such a good fight, and thanks to my mum and dad and all my friends who supported me and cheered me on when I thought I just couldn't keep going ... wow, it's been quite a trip but worth it! And thanks especially to Armin for giving us all this opportunity to really duke it out and rend some t-shirts and fight like cats and bears ... it's been wonderful and exciting but not as exciting as seeing you all wearing those t-shirts in Vancouver at AIGA! Right? Yeah!!! Go team!
Oh, wow. Phew. I need a drink.
Oh yeah and the intended colours for the t-shirt were/are silver type with white arabesques.
Ok, thanks, merci, love ya.
On Sep.17.2003 at 01:00 PMMarion, nice work on the T, it's pure magic!
I got five on it...or ten...or however much it ends up costing.
On Sep.17.2003 at 01:55 PMGood job, Marian, congrats!
...
Armin, are they printed yet?
Tomorrow? -- Ok, I can wait :)
On Sep.17.2003 at 02:21 PMCount me in - I could even wear it to work!! Very cool!!!! - And congrats!!
On Sep.17.2003 at 03:05 PMGreat! That's my clear favourite from the top 3(4).
I would have thought that the colours would be text in white with silver arabesques but that's me.
Sign me up. Wish I could be going to the AIGA conference but such are the money woes of the self-employed.
On Sep.17.2003 at 05:41 PMi wish you'd use "ccnow" instead of "paypal" for speakup's payment gateway. paypal doesnt ship to all countries making international orders next to impossible.
On Sep.17.2003 at 07:41 PMway to go marian! hmmm, just wondering how much do i have to spend to get it here in Singapore, where i reside in... *sigh*
On Sep.17.2003 at 10:05 PMVery nice. Congrats on the successful contest! I'll wear one proudly.
(And I'll quietly second the notion of making the art about 20% smaller.)
