The ESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee (TC) is an intergovernmental organization established in 1968 under the auspices of ESCAP and WMO, whose mission is to integrate and enhance regional (meteorological, hydrological, and disaster risk reduction) activities of Members within international frameworks to reduce the loss of lives and minimize social, economic, and environmental impacts by typhoon-related disasters. Hong Kong Observatory Hosts AI in Tropical Cyclone Forecasting Workshop with Active Participation from Typhoon Committee Secretariat
The ESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee Secretariat (TCS) received prominent recognition at the "New Achievements, New Opportunities, New Actions: Symposium on External Legal Affairs of the Macao SAR," organised by the Macao SAR Government to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Macao’s return to the Motherland.
TC Secretary of ESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee (TC), Dr. Yihong DUAN met with the visiting Prof. Shahbaz KHAN, Director and Representative of UNESCO Regional Office for East Asia and his entourages in the afternoon, 13 December 2023.
